We're back!
I do apologize for our absence these past couple weeks; we've been out in the world taking tintype portraits of all the characters we meet!

But we had a fantastic photo shoot today, so I do hope it makes up for lost time...

{ A groovy duo: suede fringe vest and floral print button down; 1960s/70s.  }

{ My Miami Advice to you would be to hop in this rad shirt! Never worn, ca. 1980s. }
*

Into the Future

... betchya didn't know I'm a fortune teller, did ya?
I love reading tarot cards as a hobby,
but I'm starting to take it more seriously.
And I'm pleased with the banner I recently made...

  ∆

  { the original graphic i created using photoshop. }

   { yes, I used an overhead projector.  shoot, I can't freehand like that! }

  ∆

{ I drew this design onto a piece of woven linen and mounted it on a large embroidery hoop.  I created the hand silhouette using Man Ray's photo of black and white hands painted by Picasso. }
  ∆
 Next project:  Gypsy tent!
We'll see...

Va-Va-Va-Vooom!
Sail past the stars and over the moon with me,
and peek our recently acquired
Deco-era Burlesque Showgirl costume!

It's racy and delicious...
No imagination required!
Completely comprised of white glass beads, mesh cups with studs and, uh... let's just call it a
"mirrored modesty shield".
Whew!

And so as not to leave anything out:
 we managed to shoot a few other pieces for the shop...
{ 1930s dusty-blue silk maxi gown with dipped back.}
*

{ Silk embroidered blouse with Asian flair and bird motif; est. ca. 1960s. }
*

{ This blouse is truly special!  We found it in an 1880s brothel house, in a mining town out in the Wild West territory of the United States; it belonged to the original owner of the brothel and had been tucked safely away in the attic since the early 1930s!  A treasure unearthed!  Silk and embroidery. }
*

{ Such a unique and lovely blouse!  Hook closures at the collar and the waist band; 1960s. }
